Mr Tan Distributed 20 "AngPow"

Yeah yesterday our Mr Tan Vooi Giap, currently lecturer of Financial Decision Making (FDM) in TARC who was once our AFA 07/08 P1 (Professional Accountant) tutor had distributed 20 angpow to whole AFA during the FDM lecture.

The angpow inside consist of RM 1.00 MEGA(under Sport Toto) the picked numbers were said to have fengshui! Nowadays everyone is talking about fengshui in AFA, maybe they can ask Joey Yap(Malaysia) or Master So(HK) to come use "Lo Pan" to find out the auspicious spot or directions...

Well the 20 angpow only distributed to the each of the group (total 12 groups), only received by class rep. The remaining 8 of the angpow i do not know who kept it =X maybe strike jor they diam diam took the money away =X haha

Anyway we must thank Mr Tan for giving us RM 1.00 angpow which if strike jackpot might get millions :D

p.s. Mr Tan if you are reading this, I am telling you the FDM is really difficult than AFM!!!

Accountant NOT Mathematician!

As you all know Dr Wong had been complained for not teaching the AFM properly! The students complaint her during the student dialogue that she did not teach how the formulas are derived and just ask the students to memorize only! Although she started the subject in the first week by telling us how the formulas are derived aren't important, what important is the application.

We study AFM in financial accounting do not have to learn HOW the formulas are derived, you just have to follow the formulas and know when to use the formulas! I believe a lot of students will agree with me this is OUT OF THE SYLLABUS!

The students have to put their own effort by doing tutorials and read through the text book before attending her class. Dr Wong is right about this. If you don't put the effort and blame Dr Wong did not teach well? Dr Wong had done a lot of preparation before coming to lecture, she knows what are missing in text book and she analyzed what other reference book can help us "fill-in" the missing part...Why no one make a credit to her efforts? Sigh....

Dr Wong might probably leave us in the coming March 2009 because of this "derivation" matter. There aren't many AFM lecturers out there who would come TARC and lecture! She bid us "God Bless You All".... Just GREAT! I really wish that the person who made such accusation will come forward and apologize....You are so selfish(we all don't want to know the formulas derivation! ok?!)

Big iSSUE! Fake Original Text Books!!

The matter of receiving fake original text books in TARC has become serious especially in this last semester of AFA year 2. Starting from the original Kaplan Advanced Financial Management text book which turns out to be PHOTOSTATED quality type, eventhough the students of AFA had paid at original price, and now even the original Kaplan Advanced Performance Management text book is FAKE.....This is a SCAM!!!

Due to some reasons the students did not take action on the supplier on the first fake original text book. I believe the supplier think they can get away by doing it the first time, thus they do it the SECOND time by providing another original Kaplan Advanced Performance Management text book! WoW! But this time the issue had brought up to lecturers.

I strongly suggest students of AFA to REJECT(RETURN BACK) the purchase of 2nd text book and demand explanation from the supplier! Students must stick together and leave no space of bargaining until the supplier compensate! The supplier has violated the copyright of Kaplan.

This should send a warning to the supplier never provide FAKE original text books again....
